MY YOGA JOURNEY BEGAN OVER 20 YEARS AGO WHEN I TOOK MY FIRST YOGA CLASS FROM BARON BAPTISTE IN HIS STUDIO IN BRYN MAWR, PENNSYLVANIA. I WENT TO THE CLASS BECAUSE I LOST A BET WITH A GOOD FRIEND AND PROMISED HER I WOULD….THAT CLASS ENDED WITH ME A TREMBLING, OPEN & EMOTIONAL PERSON WHO JUST TOOK THE FIRST STEP TO LIFE TRANSFORMATION. SHORTLY AFTER THAT CLASS I MOVED TO CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA FOR MY HUSBANDS WORK AND DECIDED I WOULD BEGIN THE JOURNEY TO BECOME A BAPTISTE YOGA TEACHER. I OPENED MINDBODY YOGA & SPINNING CENTER IN MARCH 2001 AND IMMERSED MYSELF INTO THE COMMUNITY TO BRING BAPTISTE POWER YOGA TO EACH AND EVERY PERSON IN IT. I BECAME A YOGA TEACHER FOR THE CAROLINA PANTHERS, RED BULL RACING TEAM, NOMAD AQUATICS SWIM TEAM & NORTH MECKLENBURG LACROSSE TEAM. I OFFERED FREE YOGA CLASSES TO THE HOMELESS IN OUR COMMUNITY AND GAVE BACK IN EVERY WAY I COULD. WE BECAME A THRIVING & HEALTHY YOGA COMMUNITY TO EVERYONE FROM THE STAY-AT-HOME MOM TO A PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE.
TODAY I AM FILLED WITH JOY TO OWN AND OPERATE SHINE POWER YOGA STUDIOS. I LOVE GETTING TO KNOW MY COMMUNITY BETTER AND CREATING A MORE HEALTHY LIFE FOR US ALL. I SERVE ON THE LEADERSHIP BOARD FOR AFRICA YOGA PROJECT AND LOVE WHEN OUR AYP TEACHERS COME VISIT AND TEACH US. I AM A LULULEMON YOGA AMBASSADOR AS WELL.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS STYLE OF YOGA IS ITS SIMPLICITY, IT SPEAKS TO EVERYBODY & EVERY BODY. IT IS A SIMPLE AVENUE TO TRANSFORMATION…..IT BEGINS WITH THE MUSCLES QUIVERING, BUT ENDS WITH OUR INSIDES TREMBLING WITH POSSIBILITY, THE FEELING OF FREEDOM AND THE LETTING GO OF WHAT HOLDS US BACK FROM OUR AUTHENTIC SELF! I GET VERY EXCITED GETTING TO KNOW THE STUDENTS AND REALLY SHOW THEM WAYS TO ACCESS THEIR BODIES MORE FREELY! I DON’T BELIEVE THERE IS A SEPARATION BETWEEN STUDENT AND TEACHER, WE ARE THAT FOR EACH OTHER. SAT NAM!
Survivor - because I was born to be on this show and win it over and over and over. Food challenges would be my specialty!
Carpentry. I would build a beautiful farmhouse from nothing, I would love having my hand in every project and my most precious room would be a library with floor to ceiling bookshelves, there would be natural light and distressed wood floors. Aiden (from Sex & The City) would make me a comfy chair to read in.

I began my yoga practice 11 years ago for the sole purpose of fitting into my wedding gown. I had no idea at that time that practicing yoga would not only help me transform and heal my physical body, but that it would also serve to feed my mind and fill my soul.
I completed Shine Power Yoga's Mentorship Program in May 2015 and Grace and Glory Yoga's 200 hr. Teacher Leader Development Program in August 2015. I completed my Baptiste Level 1 Training in July 2016 and am registered for Level 2 training this year (2017). My desire to teach came during my participation in SHINE's first Leadership Bootcamp in November 2014. In addition to teaching yoga, I am also a certified personal trainer (ACSM) and spin instructor.
In addition to continuing to teach and reach our communities, my goal is to continue to participate in co-facilitating 40 Days to Personal Revolution, Leadership Bootcamp, Teacher Leadership Training and Mentorship Programs. My personal interests include, reading, retail therapy and long distance cycling.
My calm demeanor translates into a "Powerfully Calm" flow. I am committed to my belief that every BODY is beautiful ; and I seek to share the message of self love and positive body image through the practice of yoga.
That with desire and willingness most anything is achievable

In 2011 I had just suffered my second serious SVT attack (feels much like a heart attack I’m told) that combined with stress from work, I began suffering from frequent panic attacks and constant migraines. My Sister convinced me to try out a Power Yoga Bootcamp with Wanda. I knew I was in by the end of the first class.
I began attending classes regularly and found that I was not only seeing improvement in my body, but I was happier and my panic attacks slowly subsided. I loved being a part of the community and practicing with people of all levels. Later that year when the prospect arose to attend Teacher Training with Johnna Smith I knew I wanted in. Since receiving my 200 Hr I have also completed Baptistse Level 1 & 2. Budokon Primary Series & Buti Yoga
Even if I only catch the last 5 minutes, I always cry at the end of Shawshank Redemption.
To appreciate and focus on what my body CAN do that day
I came to yoga in 2009 simply curious about what it was. I swam for 16 years competitively and then dabbled in and out of gym visits. I hadn’t been a part of true community since I stopped swimming and I never found anything that really made me want to come back until I found yoga. Finding this community gave me strength I didn’t know that I had. I used to live most of my life in reaction or panic mode. With Baptiste methodology I am able to slow down and breathe and make better decisions. In 2015 I underwent training with SHINE power yoga in Dafuskie, NC. To say that becoming a teacher has changed my life seems not strong enough words to represent what it means to me.
This practiced has changed the way I view my life and the way I operate my business. It has broken my down and opened me up in such beautiful safe ways. Since becoming a teacher I have gone through Art of assisting and became BUTI yoga certified. I believe this practice is ever evolving. I believe in being the student before the teacher. I love how this practice allows me to strip down showing my most organic true side.
To have patience and gratitude for myself.
Running has been my passion for 10 years and I had practiced hatha yoga on and off simply to complement my running. That all changed in 2011 when I was introduced to Baptiste yoga by a friend. From the first class, I was hooked to the flow of the practice and the way I felt when I left the studio. I continued to explore my yoga practice and discovered the deeper, more transformative power of Baptiste yoga. The busyness of my professional career and family life melted away when I was on my mat. I found myself calmer and happier as my yoga practice continued. Baptiste yoga provides me with possibility each time I’m on my mat. Possibility to go deeper into asana and take myself where I never thought I’d be able to go.
I felt like I needed to dive deeper, past the physical asana so I completed the 40 Days to Personal Revolution program and learned the power of meditation, self-inquiry and asana. This trio opened a whole new world for me as I learned how to bring equanimity, gratitude and patience into my life. I truly believe that I am a better mother, wife and career woman after finding yoga and immersing myself into the self-exploration my practice provides. Because of this transformation and the joy yoga brought to my life, I felt compelled to learn how I can share this power with others around me and decided to complete 200-hour teacher certification in 2013 with Johnna Smith. I am excited to continue this journey through our strong community and share my love of yoga with others. I have found such gratification and joy in teaching and have found passion in matching music with sequencing. I continue my love of running and when not at work, I spend my time with my husband and fellow yogi Brian, and my two amazing children.
The first time a class moved through sun salutations on their own breath with no cue – it was beautiful.
Living a healthy and fit lifestyle has always been an important part of my life. Growing up I was a competitive gymnast, and I always enjoyed helping teach young and new gymnasts. As an adult I found that yoga was a great way to reconnect with my gymnastic days. I had tried different styles of yoga then one day I attended a Baptiste Yoga Class with my sister, Lauren, and I fell in love. It wasn’t long after that I signed up for the RYT 200 Program.
Yoga has changed my life because I see it as a journey with endless possibility for growth mentally, physically and spiritually. I have fallen in love with yoga, and I want to share my passion with every student that enters my class. I hope everyone leaves my class feeling like anything is possible.

Tracy Kane, a Baptiste Certified Yoga Teacher and Lululemon Ambassador, started her yoga journey in 2002. A journey that would lead her to a lighter, stronger and more peaceful version of herself. Tracynervously stepped into a Baptiste Power Vinyasa affiliated studio in 2003. She left class that night and knew Baptiste Yoga was something special and she had to go back. One year later she completed her 200 hour certification under Master teacher Bill Raup at Power Yoga Works in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Later completing Level 1 and Level 2 with Baron Baptiste. After each training she left more empowered, connected and confident. Tracy says, “I was scared all the time and when that happened I would run away. Yoga has taught me to stay, breathe, and listen. Now, I am awake and alive. I am forever grateful for Baptiste Yoga!”
Tracy is very passionate about sharing Baptiste Yoga and her yoga journey with others. She desires to inspire and empower her students. Yoga has been her outlet to expression, growth and confidence. It is where she feels at hOMe. Though she is far from perfect, she perseveres and always follows her dreams, especially to live an inspired, grateful life. Tracy is so inspired by her committed yoga students and her greatest teachers: three sweet babies and supportive badass husband.
To focus on what I want rather than what I do not want.
