I started practicing yoga 15 years ago, always opting for more gentle and restorative classes. I had always been apprehensive to try Power Yoga, for fear of the unknown. I was convinced the heated studio and power practice would be too strenuous and intense for me. In May 2014, a friend of mine finally convinced me to take a class with her at SHINE. I reluctantly went, but was hooked by the end of class! I fell in love with the flow, the heat, and mostly the community. After that, I started practicing at SHINE religiously. I often left class feeling so much lighter both physically and mentally, but even more I would feel empowered and that I could do anything I put my mind too. I attributed that mainly to the incredible teachers. As my practice evolved I would dream of one day becoming a yoga teacher at SHINE. Being a bit of an introvert, I never saw that dream coming to fruition, but with gentle nudging from friends and family I signed up for teacher training in 2018. I completed my 200 hours and mentorship in September and happily started teaching right away! My hope is to inspire and impact students the way other teachers at SHINE have for me. In my class, you can expect to be challenged but with a lot of love. I'm a quirky free spirit who loves to laugh and remind students that yoga doesn't have to be perfect. It's okay to be messy, playful and have fun. I am currently teaching at the Maple Shade studio on Monday's and Thursday's and loving every minute of it! My new goal is to complete Baptiste Level 1 training within a year as well as attend the Baptiste Assisting Course, so I can continue to grow and be the most badass yoga teacher I can be. Every class I teach I am grateful that I get to do something that I love and am so passionate about. Namaste!
